Ten Commandments On Good Design

Paragraph-Presentation

Words-Presentation

These are the 10 basic principles of design set by Dieter Rams (other links: 1/2) chief of design at Braun – up till 1995 – a creator of so many design icons; icons that students studied and design professionals were “inspired” by…

These design principles will always be on the wall of any studio I work in… they explain everything be it design process or what your goals are in the end result… It is an essential read for any designer no matter what discipline… i hope Mr. Rams knows the effect this had on so many people and I wish i would someday be commissioned to do a poster like this for real… Maybe then I can spare the time to do it exactly the way I imagine it to be!

Please note that this is a self-initiated project and will not see production any time soon…

I am really pleased that you are a fan of the Good Design page on our website. It has gained a lot of interest.

With regards to your poster, the ‘Ten principles’ are covered by a Creative Commons license. This would mean that producing a poster series to sell would violate these conditions, therefore it is not possible.

If you would like to produce any other poster series on Dieter Rams’s work, then we may be able to help with imagery and gaining copyright permission.

    • Hello Daniel,

I apologize if there was any misunderstanding. This was a personal project of mine, which i sadly overlooked for a while now…
But I’ve been developing the idea for a new poster about design master dieter and his legacy.

I’ll send you an e-mail soon regarding your generous offer to help with imagery and permission.

      Thanks,
      Hadi Alaeddin.

  4. Hello Hadi

That’s absolutely fine. I just wanted to let you know.

Of course a different poster is far easier to do, so do let me know if you need some advice.

    Best wishes

    Daniel
